The life span of an air-conditioner can be increased with regular maintenance by an authorised dealer such as
Basic Cooling Air-Conditioning.
The minimum service interval required is annually (every 12 months).
If equipment is installed in very dusty or dirty environments, servicing should be done every three months.
- Cleaning of indoor unit and filters.
- Cleaning of outdoor unit and coil with coil cleaner.
- Check gas pressure and add gas when required.
- Check that air conditioner works on heating and cooling.
- Replacing any faulty parts.
- Repair of any gas leaks
The owner is liable for any cost incurred for the maintenance of the air conditioner, as the product warranty does not cover any of these costs.
Maintenance
Bluchem Coil Treatment:
Bluchem coil treatment is a blend of acrylic resins and plasticizer forming a heavy duty protective coating which can be applied to aluminium fin-copper tube air conditioner condenser and evaporator coils.
Bluchem is dust repelling – UV, water and salt spray resistant resulting in a high quality anti-corrosion film of 20um. Due to the flexibility of the product the drop in heat transfer is less than 2%. It can be applied to virgin material as well as pre-coated condenser coils manufactured by companies such as Daikin, LG, Panasonic, Nashua, York and Samsung.
Why Treat Your Condensing Unit?
Most corrosive environments contain more than on pollutant; any combination of coastal salt spray, industrial pollution and vehicle emission and many other gasses and dust particles contribute to galvanic corrosion or oxidization. With the heat produced by the condenser these pollutants form a crust on the fin and tube. The dissimilar metals, aluminium and copper react with the increase of the pollutants causing sever fin degradation, particularly at the fin/tube coupling. This leads to a reduction in the heat transfer capabilities and eventual destruction of the heat exchanger.

Warrantee:
We offer a FIVE (5) year warrantee on the coating of raw coils and pre-treated coils from date of application if yearly maintenance contract are in place with a reputable air-conditioning servicing company and the coils are cleaned at least once a year with water or non-acid type cleaning soaps with a neutral ph. In high corrosive areas once every SIX (6) months cleaning cycle is required. A detailed warrantee specification is available upon request.
